Presentation of IB

On september 20th 2011 tuesday, I did presentation about IB with my inter-house team. I was in chechov and our team was supposed to introduce IB learner profile to the audience. The audience was year 10 and 11 which are studying IGCSE now and going to study IB in year 12. So we needed to change the vocabulary to easy words so that year 10 and 11 students can understand. We had 6 members in our team and each of us had our own roles in the team.

 Everyone had to speak during the presentation and I was supposed to introduce what the principled means. Not only introducing the word but also I explained every word that could be difficult for year 10 and 11 s to understand. Basically what we wanted to say to the audience is that they should be like the IB learner profile after they finished their IB curriculum in the future.

By this work there were several learning outcomes. All of our members had their own role, we planned and initiated our presentation. Also we work collaboratively. And this was my first time to speak in front of many students, So I can say that I developed my new skill – to speak in front of the crowd.

Badminton club

Badminton club is an activity that I don every week on tuesday after school with a teacher and students from all year group. I started to play badminton in the badminton club since year10, I have been playing for the tuesday badminton club for 3 years now and this shows my commitment and perseverance towards badminton club.

We always choose our partner and play together as a team. One team has two members and one team plays badminton against one team. For each game the point is usually up to 15~20 points and we play collaboratively. Even if one player is really good at badminton, if another one doesn’t support the partner the team won’t be successful in the game. So the teamwork in badminton is also very important.

 I can say that there were many learning outcomes. I increased my awareness of my own strengths and areas for growth by playing badminton in the club. I also worked collaboratively with my partners. Also I showed my perseverance and commitment in my activity by playing badminton in the club for very long time. Also by playing the badminton I developed my new skills such as smashing.

10Km fun run!



On the 18th of september I ran for the 10km marathon. Our school students gathered infront of the basil's cathedral at 11:00 and we got our numbers for the marathon. At 12:00 we started running. It was a very big event in Moscow and about 5000 people who are from all different countries ran for the marathon. I was really pround of my self that I was one of them. I was supposed to run about 10km but I misunderstood the course therefore I ran about 12 km for this running. Although I was really tired, it was one of the best challenging experience. For me it was the first time to run for the marathon. This activity meant alot to me, it was one of the biggest challenge in my life, and It was really good to run with my friends, encourage each others.


 There were many learning outcomes. First, I increased my awareness of my own strengths and areas for growth. Also I've undertaken new challenges. Because it was my firt time to run for the marathon. Also I can say that I worked collaboratively with others because I ran with my friends and if someone couldn't follow us we encouraged each others and finished the running. Also I've shown my perseverance. Also I've developed my new skills by running. I learned how to breathe when I run for the really long distance.

Sports day

On thursday 15th of september we had sports day. It was the first sports day since I became the IB student. We were supposed to do many tasks.

First of all, all of our team 'chekhov' was gathered in the gym and IB students organised teams for playing football,basket ball,volley ball, dodge ball and the relay.Also we were supposed to choose a mascot , a song for the interhouse and the celebration. The first game that we did on the sports day was dodge ball. All of our team played dodgeball and we learned the rules of the dodgeball. After that, we played foot ball,basket ball and valley ball. For winning the game we worked collaboratively with each other. Except these games, we did several activities. we ran around the school and also we had a game which defend and attack each others. For winning the game we had to communicate each others and make the strategy.

After lunch time, we had relay. 5 people from each teams (Tolstoy, Chekhov, Pushkin and Gogol) ran for the relay. I didnt run for it but I cheered for the game. After the relay the whole students standed on the line and passed the ball to the back and the last students came back to the front with their balls.

 We did a lot of activities therefore, I can say that there were many learning outcomes. I can say that I increased my awareness of my own strengths and areas for growth. For running, it was really hard to run over 200m fast but I did my best for my team and I think I increased my awareness of my own strengths.
Aslo I undertaken new challenges. There were several games that I haven't played before so I learned about new games and so I can say that I undertaken new challenges.
 Also we planned and initiated activities. There was a game which we defended the ball and for attacking we brought the ball to our safety jone. For playing that we had to communicate each others and planned strategy. I played new games that I hadnt played so I can say that I develoed new skills.

The firstday of the school

 The frist of september 2011 was the first day of the school. Also it was the first day as an IB student. We did many activities. We did not do it as individuals. we were devided in groups and we worked together.
There were manythings that we achived. We tried to make the hightest tower with papers and for doing that our communication skill was needed. We needed to make strategy to complete the mission. We made a kite. That was a new challenge for me. We need more creative ideas for making the kite to fly high. For doing that we communicated each others and worked together. We went out of the school to test the kite and we ran for making the kite to fly.
 Therefore, I can say there were at least four outcomes. Undertaken new challenges,planned and initiated activities,worked collaboratively with others and developed new skills.
