Jumble sale

In november 25th of 2011 , our year 12 students organized a zumble sale for the charity. All the profit that we had for this sale was planning to go to the charity .

Before the zumble sale we advertised it for persuading people to come to the jumble sale. And all year 12 students were involved in the jumble sale, so they brought something that can be useful. They brought many old stuff such as dolls, toys and DVDs. I brought my scarf and a korean book. There are many koreans in my school so it didnt really matter even the book was written in korean. During the lunch time, I went to the place where the zumble sale was going on to help students. I stood behind the table and sold the products. I changed the money if the teachers or students wanted .
I tried to bring more and more people for the sale so I went out and advertised the sale.

From this service activity there were many learning outcomes.
First , I have undertaken new challenges - selling goods, and we planned this activity about 1 week before the zumble sale so I have planned and initiated activities.  And I have considered the ethical implications of my actions since this activity was engaged with the charity.

Volunteer work

The CAS programme provides me with an opportunity to challenge myself, to help others and to gain some invaluable life experience in the process. For the Service, I tried to contact with non-government organisations to help the others. I chose 3 organisations - Friends of Bitsevsky park, Russian Orphan Oppertunity Fund(ROOF) and Moscow animals.
Here's an example of an email that I sent to 'Friends of Bitsevsky park'

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am interested in volunteer work at Friends of Bitsevsky Park. I have experience cleaning the park. I can do rubbish collection for the park.

If the Friends of Bitsevsky need a hard working volunteer, Im willing to work as the hard working volunteer.
I would be available to volunteer anytime during the weekends.
If you want me to work as a volunteer please reply this e-mail. I will wait for the reply

Yours faithfully,

Sang-hoon Lee
