On 10th of may 2012, I went to a cafe where provides free food for elderly. The place where I have been to is supported by an American church and some of companies to provide some free food. Before I serve the food I washed my hands and started to give a coupon. When all of the elderly got coupons we started to serve. If we get one coupon we provided one soup, one main dish, one salad, one juice and two breads. Some elderly gave the coupon with a basket for take-out , then we put all the food in the baskets as they want. After all of the elderly finished eating, we started to clean. We carried all of the dishes. It was not very hard work because many students also came for the service from Anglo-American school. Include the teachers and university students, about 10 people were working so this was not really hard working. And unfortunately, I heared that every year less people are coming for this service because companies do not support as much as they did. I hope more people come to the service. And I want to go to serve the food as much as I can. Actually, it was my first time to serve the food to people ( especially for free) and it was very meaningful challenge to serve food to russian elderly.
There were many learning outcomes through this challenge.
- I had undertaken new challenges ( it was my first time to serve food )
-I had considered the ethical implications of my action ( we were serving the food for free to the elderly)
