Weather club

Since I started my IB diploma program, I am joining the weather club which is run by our geography and ESS teacher Mr. O’Conner. At the beginning of this activity we learned how to use new unfamiliar equipments and we measured the air pressure, precipitations, temperatures etc. The aim of this activity was proving that the global warming is becoming serious problem and the average temperature of the globe is rising. For proving that, the weather club students are measuring the temperature of our school and then we compare it to the average climate of Russia.  However, in this term we did something new. Not only measuring the temperatures, but also we drew an enormous graph with using the data. We drew a graph of our measurement of our school and also the average climates of Russia. So we could easily compare them.

By doing this activity there are some learning outcomes.

I had shown perseverance and commitment in my activity. Because this work should be done through the whole year.

Also I am developing new skills by graphing the data. And I had engaged with issues of global importance because we are doing this project because of the global warming.
