As part of ESS course work we had a trip to Istra which is located outside of Moscow. The hotel that we stayed was located in the middle of forest. So we could do many investigations in there with many plants, animals and insects. On the first day, we spent time to create a map of Istra so that we can get some ideas of Istra's location. On the next day we did some experiments with teachers and on the last day we had to do our own investigation individually. Except these experiments we did many activities including making a boat and sheep herding. By making a boat we could learn about chemical reactions. Also by doing the sheep herding activity we could develop our communication skills. And during the Istra trip I could learn how to do an investigation. For my own investigation I made my own hypothesis and then tried to prove it. The trip was absolutely fantastic and there were so many things that I learnt from it.
- Undertaken new challenges-It was my first time to make a hypothesis and prove it.
- Plan and initiate activities- I planned my own investigation
- Work collaboratively with others- Most of activities and experiments were group activities
- Develop new skills- I learned how to use new equipments
